AEL-Jacksonville: Opened in 1994, the Jacksonville lab started with just two chemists doing work on UST sites and quick turnaround remediation projects. The lab now has 35 employees working on projects from wastewater to Superfund sites. The lab is approved under TNI / NELAP, DoD ELAP and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 programs, and holds a USDA permit to import Foreign Soils. The 8,400 square-foot building was custom designed by AEL and specifically engineered to serve as an environmental testing laboratory and as the corporate headquarters. It encompasses state-of-the-art laboratory design and instrumentation, and offers sampling and courier services. The lab holds one of the largest approved analyte lists in Florida, with in-house analysis that includes TRPH Speciation (EPH/VPH), oxygenates, low-level mercury, dissolved gases by RSK 175, full SOC list, herbicides, and pesticides.
Jacksonville Laboratory Manager: Jason Gebhardt. BS in Biology from the University of North Florida and ten years experience. Jason was promoted in Lab Manager in 2012, and had previously been the Organics Department Manager for AEL-Jacksonville. Jason has a strong customer services attitude and is an excellent manager of personnel and projects.

AEL-Tampa: In 1998, AEL-Tampa began operations as a small wastewater testing laboratory providing wet-chemistry analysis. Today the lab provides a full range of metals and organic analysis as well from the 10,200 square-feet facility. AEL-Tampa currently services a long list of consulting firms and other clients ranging from the Florida DEP to MacDill Air Force Base to real-estate firms. The lab also services scores of water and wastewater treatment clients including municipal and county, private-residential, and industrial plants. Sampling and courier services are available.
Tampa Laboratory Manager: Michael Cammarata. BS in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry from the University of South Florida and 20 years experience. He has been with AEL for 16 years as the Manager of the Tampa laboratory. Michael is of the Florida Rural Water Association, the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals, and the America Water Works Association.

AEL -Tallahassee: AEL opened the Tallahassee Laboratory in June of 2010. The laboratory provides project management, short hold analysis, kits, sampling, and courier service for AEL clients throughout the Northwest portion of Florida. Clients include environmental consultants, DoD facilities, cities and counties, and industrial clients.
Tallahassee Lab Manager: Tim Preston. BS in Chemistry from Florida State in Tallahassee. Tim has over 23 years experience in analytical laboratories – working his way from bench chemist, to Department Manager, to Project Manager, and now Lab Manager. As a Project Manager for the last 13 years, Tim has built a strong reputation throughout Florida for helping clients in government, industry, and consulting with their lab needs.

AEL-Gainesville: AEL opened a start-up laboratory in Gainesville in 2000. In 2006, AEL purchased PPB Environmental Laboratories, a firm with over 20 years in the industry, and AEL merged the two facilities into one operation at the old PPB facility. In 2012, AEL moved into a much larger and newer facility which we had completely remodeled to serve as an analytical laboratory. The 5,200 square-foot AEL-Gainesville operation serves clients from all over Florida and specializes in low-level wet-chemistry testing. Clients include State agencies, various Cities and Counties, consultants, and industrial plants. Sampling and courier services are available.
Gainesville Laboratory Manager: Josh brings a wealth departmental experience to his position as Laboratory Manager in Gainesville. He spent eight years on the bench performing mostly organic analysis, but also has worked in extractions, wetchemistry, and metals. He followed that with ten years in client services – working in Sample Receiving, Project Management, and then Business Development. This diverse lab background has provided Josh an excellent understanding of how all laboratory departments work individually and together. And this knowledge enables Josh to provide clients with great service – from start to finish.

AEL-Orlando: The 3,680 square-foot AEL-Orlando operation opened in 2004 and serves as a lab/service center for clients in the central Florida area. Orlando Laboratory Manager: Brandon manages our central Florida lab in Altamonte Springs. He has a tremendous attention to detail which is appreciated not only by his clients, but also by his staff and co-workers. At AEL, Brandon started as a Bench Chemist and made his way through Department Supervisor, Project Manager, and Client Services Manager before taking the role of Laboratory Manager. He has an excellent knowledge of ADaPT and of the lab requirements for various FDEP/FDOH compliance programs such as Petroleum Remediation, Solid Waste, Wastewater, and Drinking Water. Brandon holds a BA in Biological Sciences from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL.

AEL-Miami: AEL began servicing the Miami area in 2008 with a client management staff of three people. In 2009, we began the process of opening an 8,600 square-foot full-service laboratory. Now completed, the lab has wet chemistry, metals, and organics capabilities. AEL clients in the area include municipalities, consultants, and industrial operations. Miami Laboratory Manager: Daniel Lashbrook. Daniel holds a BS degree in Interdisciplinary Science from The University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL, with Chemistry coursework from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. He has over 17 years of experience in environmental laboratories working in metals, wet chemistry, volatiles, semi-volatiles, microbiology and radiochemistry as a Senior Scientist and Laboratory Director. He is considered to be an expert in Organic Chemistry and in lab efficiency. Past positions have included Lab Director for a 180 person national drinking water lab, and Lab Director for a remediation and energy sector focused lab in the Midwest. Daniel is a member of the TNI (NELAC) Board of Directors, The American Water Works Association, and American Engineering Environmental Scientist Association. As AEL-Miramar Laboratory Manager, his ultimate responsibility is ensuring the accuracy and precision of all laboratory data, the operational efficiency of the laboratory and subsequent performance indicators, cost control, cost analysis and marketing.”

Fort Myers Laboratory Manager: Josh manages our newest lab in Fort Myers, FL. He oversees all operations including the laboratory and field services staff, as well as performing Project Management. Prior to taking over AEL-Fort Myers, Josh served as the Field Service and Receiving Department Manager at AEL-Tampa where he had shown tremendous skills at production, supervision, organization, quality control, and client services. In that role, Josh coordinated the sample through-put of over 25,000 projects annually while supervising a staff of three receiving clerks, two field samplers, and three couriers. He has extensive knowledge of FDEP SOPs and NELAP requirements, and has worked closely with regulatory auditors and quality assurance managers to ensure that the highest level of data integrity is maintained at all levels of service. Before joining AEL, Josh had held a similar role with another national lab for over five years with training in: HAZWOPER, Hazardous Materials and Shipping, and TREEO Surface and Groundwater Sampling.
