AEL is seeking a Senior Organics Analyst to join our Miramar team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Qualifications
Education:
- B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field
Experience:
- Two or more years as an Analyst II, or five years of experience at another analytical laboratory
- Previous experience in organics analysis or research preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
- Strong familiarity with GC, GC-MS, and extraction techniques
- Advanced instrument care and maintenance
- Managerial experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare environmental samples for analysis, including extraction and filtration
- Operate and maintain gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) instrumentation
- Assist in developing and validating new testing methods in compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and precision of data
- Analyze data, interpret results, and generate reports for clients and regulatory agencies
- Stay up to date with evolving regulations to ensure compliance with environmental testing standards
- Collaborate with the Client Service Group to understand project needs and provide technical support
- Maintain accurate records of sample analysis, quality control, and instrument maintenance
- Train and mentor junior analysts, supporting professional growth and development
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Experience analyzing environmental samples across multiple matrices using GC and GC-MS
- Knowledge of EPA-approved methods, including EPA 8270, EPA 8260, EPA 8081, EPA 8082, and Florida Petroleum Range Organics (FL-PRO)
- Ability to prepare calibration curves and quality control samples
- Strong troubleshooting skills for laboratory instrumentation
- Experience with method validations, SOP development, and root cause analysis
- Ability to manage inventory and proactively request supply orders
- Experience training, scheduling, and supervising junior analysts and technicians
Compensation & Work Schedule
- Salary: $60,000 – $80,000, based on experience
- Schedule: Monday – Friday (Weekends as needed)
- Location: On-site in Miramar, FL
